Weezer took part in their second annual Weezer Cruise this year, and used the opportunity to debut a brand new track called "Back To The Shack."
True to the return-to-your-roots theme of the song, "Shack" is a piece of nerdy power-pop akin to the stuff that made Rivers Cuomo and Co. famous in the first place.
The song talks of "rocking out like it's '94" and that seems to be exactly what Weezer plans to do. They're hitting the studio with The Cars' Rick Ocasek. Ocasek produced two of the band's three self-titled albums ("The Blue Album" and "The Green Album", aka "the good ones").
So, we may be seeing a poppier, rockier and all around awesomer Weezer in coming months. If it makes me forget even a little bit about Raditude, I am so on board.
