If you're a fan of HBO's intense crime drama True Detective, you're a fan of Charles Halford, the actor who portrayed Reggie Ledoux in the most recent episode, "The Secret Fate of All Life." He was also featured in one of the creepiest, ominous shots of the series in episode three, "The Locked Room." In a recent interview with UPROXX, Halford sat down and explained how he was turned into the suspected murderer and some more stories involving his castmates. (SPOILERS to follow)
"It's been kind of insane," Halford said of his sudden rise to fame thanks to his crazy role. "You have to credit Nic (Pizzolatto) and Cary (Fukunaga) for just nailing it. But yeah, I've just been kind of letting it unfold. And trying to have some fun with it. Like the Twitter thing has been totally new to me. And it wasn't until somebody turned me on to you guys' article on me that I think it got like real for me, you know ... I guess that's why social media is there. It's been really strange. And I'm just really happy to be a part of it, you know? It's cool."
Reggie Ledoux was (SPOILER) more than just a character in a murder-mystery drama series. He was an embodiment of the evil you felt while watching the first half of season one. What's worse is that now he's dead, we realize that he was simply a fall guy in a way for something much worse.
