NBC's hit singing competition The Voice returns next Monday, Feb. 24, with its Season 6 premiere, and a whole new crop of singers will take the stage and begin their journeys to become champion. And one singer, Christina Grimmie, starts things off on the right note with a four-chair turn.
E! Online posted an exclusive video of the 19-year-old's cover of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," which caused Adam Levine, Shakira, Blake Shelton and Usher to all turn the chairs.
"It's going to get bloody and we're going to fight," Levine said with regard to all four coaches wanting the singer. He added that his seasons of experience give him an edge.
Shakira, on the other hand, states, "He hasn't had a day off. He's tired! In season four, I might have been hormonal and sleepless, but now I'm rested and focused as laser!"
Usher fawns over the 19-year-old singer and notes, "This is about your voice. You were phenomenal. I plan on winning this entire thing with you." That's an awfully big statement for a season premiere!
Finally, Blake Shelton chimes in with "This is about you and what you want to do. I just want to help you figure out whatever that is and make you the winner of the show."
Could The Voice really have found its winner in the first episode, or are the coaches engaging in a little bit of hyperbole? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
The Voice returns on Monday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC.
