When the Bonnaroo lineup was announced earlier this week, many devoted Roovians were upset about the inclusion of Kanye West as a headliner. The Yeezus rapper famously failed to appear on time for his 2008 set, hitting the stage at 4:30 a.m. and having a public falling out with the festival organizers afterwards.
"It was six years ago, Ashley Capps of AC Entertainment told USA Today. "Nobody wants to belabor the past. Kanye's one of the major acts of our time; we're one of the great festivals of our time. We want to work together. We're excited to welcome him back."
Rick Farnam of Superfly Presents (the other half of the Bonnaroo team) echoed this sentiment in Relix.
"Everyone has moved on - it's in the past. We're happy he wants to come back to Bonnaroo and is embracing this," he said. "(West) is one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of this generation. He takes a lot of chances and he's adventurous with the live space. All those things are what Bonnaroo performers are about."
What do you think? Should Bonnaroo allow Kanye back?
