Lebron James has some big shoes to fill, in more ways than one. It's been rumored that the Miami Heat star will be joining the animated cast of Space Jam 2.
According to Deadline, Dick Ebersol's sons have come on board to develop the sequel to the 1996 animated/live-action hit.
Charlie Ebersol will lead the production while his brother, Willie Ebersol, will write the script.
The original film starred then-Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan and a slew of other top NBA players. The film ended up grossing $230M worldwide for Warner Bros Studios.
There's no set date for the follow-up release.
Back in December, MStars reported that James would begin filming for another movie, Ballers, this summer at the end of the 2013-14 NBA season. Ballers is also slated to star Kevin Hart.
Hart, who is friends with several NBA players including James, will co-write the script for Ballers with Joey Wells, Chris Spencer and Harry Ratchford.
It has been reported that Hart will play the underachieving brother of James, who decides to attend the fantasy camp.
James will executive produce the film along with Maverick Carter, Kim Roth and Hart. A director for Ballers will be chosen once the script is completed.
What do you think of Lebron James making his acting debut? Will you go see these films?
