Curtis Woodhouse was told he'd never become a footballer. He did that at for several years. Strangely he then said he wanted to be a boxer, during the prime of his soccer career, and he was laughed at across the world, but he did that. He worked his way from the bottom to the top and said he'd become the British champion for his weight class, and many ridiculed this claim, but on Saturday 22nd February 2014 he had a chance to fight champion Darren Hamilton, a well respected boxer across the world, and he won on a split decision. Hard work does indeed pay off.
The exciting contest was watched by many across the world, and Hamilton was tipped to dominate the British hopeful, but he was surprised as the fight was under way. They went toe-to-toe and a winner could of been picked from either corner, but the judges seen enough from Woodhouse to warrant him winning the title and fulfilling his hard earned dream.
It was emotional for the new British champion as he had promised his father on his death bed he'd win and obviously found it hard to hold back the tears knowing he'd fulfilled that promise to his deceased father. Woodhouse has confirmed he will stick to his previous decision that he wanted to win and retire, and he is now a soccer coach. Will he succeed at that too? You'd be a fool to bet against him after his soccer and boxing success.
