Did you really believe Kanye West when he said he would give up ranting in 2014? Yeah, neither did we. During his most recent rant, Yeezus "humbly" gave himself what he sees as a very fitting title.
The "Yeezus Tour" recent stopped in Albany, NY and Mr. Yeezus took a minute to address the crowd saying, "This is top five, dead or alive, rap god shit right now," he said. "I'm humbly top five of all time! Dead or alive. Humbly."
He took a brief intermission to perform his verse on "N***as in Paris" and promptly returned to his speech about his creative genius.
"When I say 'genius,' why is that so offense? Like I hurt somebody by calling myself a genius. Rap is about geniuses. Like, when you go to school, don't they talk about poets like they geniuses," Kanye said. "What y'all witnessing, Wayne, Eminem, Drake, Jay Z right now in front of you, doing genius work. But because we got gold chains and we got gold teeth, they don't wanna think that we geniuses. Cause I got a man-skirt on right now, they don't wanna think I'm a genius."
But this isn't the first time Yeezy has referred to himself as "top 5." Remember his verse on the track "Barry Bonds" from his Graduation album?
In case you need a refresher, he said something like this:
"Top 5 MCs, you ain't gotta remind me
Top 5 MCs: you gotta rewind me
I'm high up on the line, you could get behind me
But my head's so big you can't sit behind me"
Where does Kanye West rank in your opinion?
