KISS were recently voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, it appears that the band that received the honor largely due to their over-the-top performances won't actually perform at the ceremony.

The decision comes as the original members argue over the KISS lineup. There have been several alterations to the group since the original four disbanded. Gene Simmons wanted to include the current members (and may have said that he wouldn't play with two of the band's founding members).

Peter Criss claims he had "been denied a performance with Gene and Paul for our Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction." Adding that he wan't going to share a stage with the newer members, calling the idea "absurd" and "disgraceful."

Simmons has apoligized to fans via KISS' official website.

"This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone. To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame."
