News broke last week that Michael B. Jordan would star as the Human Torch/Johnny Storm in Josh Trank's reboot of the Fantastic Four. Unfortunately, this brought with it some criticism from comic book fans that an African-American actor would portray the Human Torch. (In the comics, Johnny Storm is white, as is his sister, Sue Storm).

TMZ caught up with Jordan on his way to dinner in the wake of the casting news and asked him about the backlash. Jordan responded with a short and sweet statement.

"They're still going to go see it anyway," he said in reference to those who are upset about his casting.

Jordan seemed unfazed by the question and by any notion of controversy, and he should feel nothing about it at all. It seems like almost every comic book movie comes with some controversy, as that particular segment of movie fans seems to be the hardest to please. In one movie alone (Batman vs. Superman), fans have freaked out about Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

And let's not forget how many people were up in arms about Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight, and we all know how excellent his performance was in that film.

Jordan should have no reason to be concerned, as the actor has proven himself consistently with his work in The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Fruitvale Station and, most recently, That Awkward Moment.
