Rihanna's new album will be a concept album based on the animated movie 'Home'

Rihanna is working on a new album. That shouldn't be surprising as RiRi once averaged a release a year. What is interesting is that the whole shebang appears to be a concept album based around an upcoming animated movie called Home.

I'll give you a second to process that.

The news came courtesy of Dreamworks Animation head Jeffrey Katzenberg, according to Variety. 

Concept albums are already a rather rare occurence in pop music. Hearing that a diva is releasing a thematically linked album is enough to give pause, but when you consider that this news is coming from a pop star of Rihanna's stature (and reputation), it's positively mind-boggling. 

To make the situation a little more believable, you should know that RiRi also voices a character in the film, which is based on the children's book The True Meaning Of Smekday.
