In less than one month there will be a star-studded charity event, "A Night at Sardi's," on Wednesday, March 26th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The event running for 22 years now brings attention and funds to the Alzheimer's Association, which in turn provides Alzheimer's care and enhances research.
There to support the cause and be honored will be The Big Bang Theory cast: Jim Parsons, Mayim Bialik, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. The cast has continually shown their support through the years, and even performed "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for the benefit in 2013.
It promises to be a very musical night, with Broadway songs from Funny Girl, Once, Matilda, Guys and Dolls and Gypsy. There will even be a tribute with Jimmy Webb for Grammy Award winner, Glen Campbell. The 77-year-old country legend will be receiving the Glen Campbell Courage Award for sharing his battle with Alzheimer's with the public. He is also known for some acting in addition to his music career.
Also in attendance will be Lizzy Caplan, Josh Gad, Sam Harris, Ken Howard, Taryn Manning, Joey McIntyre, Robert Morse, Bob Newhart, John Stamos, Steven Weber and many more.
The event has always been held in honor of the playwright and director, Abe Burrows, who was awarded with both a Tony and Pulitzer Prize during his lifetime. His children Laurie Burrows Grad and Peter Grad have been co-chairs through the years and managed to raise over $23 million to aid the Alzheimer's Association.
