One of the world's biggest video games is going to be made into a movie, but it isn't like many other adaptations we've seen before. Players of Minecraft might think that a movie possibility might seem too farfetched, but now Warner Bros and The Lego Movie producers are putting those doubts to rest!
The news began to leak earlier this week, so Swedish indie developer Mojang AB decided to just announce the project:
Someone is trying leak the fact that we're working with Warner Brothers on a potential Minecraft Movie. I wanted to be the leak!

Deadline reports:
The property already is getting huge interest from writers and filmmakers as Warners is putting together a live-action version. Roy Lee is going to produce Minecraft via his Vertigo Entertainment production company along with Jill Messick (Mean Girls and Mean Moms) who will also produce in some capacity, the studio said. Lee produced the megahit The Lego Movie with Dan Lin which launched a franchise for Warner Bros and a sequel is planned.
In the Minecraft game, players create their own avatar and use cubes to create, build, and destroy structures and other forms across multiple game modes and various players. When you first begin the game, the player is dropped into the middle of nowhere and must build out a world of their own, but monsters can come out at any time and you must survive the night.
Are you looking forward to the Minecraft movie or is this too weird of an adaptation for you? Let us know your opinion(s) in the comments section below!
