Katy Perry Aims for ‘Madonna’

"Part of Me" Star Katy Perry said that she wants a career like Madonna.

"I think Madonna, especially in the beginning of her career when she was laying the foundation, was evolving every single time and giving a new visual and a new idea to the public," the singer told L'Uomo Vogue.

Perry continued that Madonna kept everybody interested because you never knew what she was going to do next, but whatever she delivered was a solid product.

"I just hope to be the same. I hope to continually make people interested and hopefully in 10 years look back and have written songs that have become timeless."

She also shared about her next album that it would be much darker than previous ones.

"It was inevitable, after what I went through," Perry continued. "If I had a time machine and could go back in time, I would. But I can't, so you'll discover another part of me."

Perry recently expressed the plan to "hide" herself from spotlight to "unplug and recharge" once her new movie is open. The film is in theater on July 5.
