Conan O'Brien will host the 2014 MTV Movie Awards on April 13, 2014

Conan O'Brien this week announced that he will be the host of the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. Breaking the news on his TBS late night talk show, Conan, the newly appointed host of the MTV event poked fun at the Movie Awards in a hilarious sketch that led up to his announcement. Check it out here!

Leading up to his announcement, Conan showed the audience some examples of prestigious awards including the Oscar, the Golden Globe, the BAFTA, the Peabody and the Nobel Peace Prize. He explained how those who have won these have more than likely worked their whole lives to get be awarded these.

Then he exclaimed: "But if you ask me, they're all garbage!"

Conan shoved them off of his desk, screamed a bit more and then made his announcement.

"There's only one award, one award in the world that truly matters," he said, pulling up the trophy as he spoke. "I'm talking of course about the MTV Movie Award! Ah, the golden popcorn. Isn't she beautiful? Well I, Conan O'Brien, will realize my lifelong dream of hosting the 2014 MTV Movie Awards!"

Met by applause from the crowd, Conan posed with the Movie Award trophy as more information of the event scrolled over the screen and Andy Richter announced it.
