Demi Lovato on How 'X Factor' Messed With Her Emotionally [VIDEO]

Rookie X Factor judge Demi Lovato's heart is weak when it comes to saying no to contestants.

"I didn't think it would be this challenging," Lovato shared in a backstage interview at the Providence, R.I. auditions. "Saying no to people is really hard."

On the contrary, saying no and being harsh comes quite easily for veteran judge and boss of the reality show Simon Cowell. Is Lovato simply just too nice and innocent?

Lovato added, "Emotionally, it kind of messes with you a little bit 'cause you don't want to say no to some people, and then some people you're torn and you know in the back of your mind that if you say no, what if that was their only shot and you let them go when they weren't really that bad? It's just really confusing"

Nevertheless, Lovato is really grateful for the opportunity and to be able to gain the experience.

"It is everything I expected and more, with having fun and just bonding with the cast and everything. Like, everyone's so sweet and awesome and the crew's amazing, so I'm having a lot of fun."

Fellow X Factor judge Britney Spears is also new on the boat, therefore Lovato and Spears could strengthen and relate to each other. When asked what's the best part of working together, Spears answered, "Girl power, definitely!" The girls have nothing but kinds words to say about each other.
