Taylor Swift this week has finally received a restraining order on Timothy Sweet, a 33-year-old man that has been stalking the "I Knew You Were Trouble" songstress since January of 2011. After Sweet's actions and threats became more troublesome, Swift decided to file the restraining order.
Sweet had been making bold and ludicrous statements, professing his love for the 24-year-old singer through countless emails, letters, and social media posts. He even referred to Taylor as his wife in these messages.
"My wife, Taylor Swift [Sweet]and I live in Beverly Hills," one message written by the troubled man allegedly said. "I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life."
"Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage," he reportedly wrote and even name-dropped a high-ranking political figure. "Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate."
"If anyone in Taylor Swift's family gets killed, it is not my fault," another message reportedly said.
Swift had had enough of this stalker's abuse and threats.
"[His conduct] is seriously alarming and harassing and [is] extremely distressing to me and my family," Swift said in court, according to E!, adding that she does "not have desire to interact with or communicate in any way with Mr. Sweet."
Hopefully this stalker issue is taken care of thanks to the restraining order. We wish Taylor good luck during this difficult time in her life.
