Katy Perry Ditches Popcorn Dress for Sleek Gothic Style in Sydney Premiere [PHOTOS]

Katy Perry appeared to have ditched her signature bubbly image for a sophisticated, dark and sleek look.  The 27-year-old pop star looked gorgeous in a black satin dress with some lace along the neckline and sexy Christian Louboutin pumps prior to the premiere of her 3D-film "Katy Perry: Part of Me" in Sydney Australia.

Perry's style reflects her mood, according to the singer's confession to Female First.  

"My sense of style is like one of those things that change colour with mood, always evolving," she said.

"When I get up, I choose my outfit depending on my state of mind. If it is a "mixture of many things" it is because I feel many different emotions at the same time, to the point where you feel you almost have a split personality," Perry added.

The singer had also revealed to L'Uomo Vogue that her next album will including a batch of darker songs, reflecting the her recent experiences including the surprise divorce filed by Russell Brand that broke her heart.

The "Teenage Dream" chapter has ended, and the next chapter will soon begin after Perry takes some time away after her promotional duties for "Katy Perry: Part of Me" are complete.

The film will be out in theaters on July 5th.
