It looks like Liam Payne has caught the songwriting bug after the tremendous success of One Direction's most recent album Midnight Memories, on which he and Louis Tomlinson were principal songwriters. Though he and Louis are hard at work on more 1D songs, some new reports are saying Liam is looking to broaden his musical horizons and is trying to work with girl group Neon Jungle's new songs!
According to members of Neon Jungle, Payne has his eye on this budding British singing group for his songwriting venture.
"Liam Payne knew who we were and said he was listening to our song in the car," Amira McCarthy of the pop group told The Daily Star. "He said that he'd really to write for us, so we're waiting for the song."
Hopefully Liam gets this song to them before One Direction's 2014 world stadium tour entitled "Where We Are" kicks off in April. Otherwise Neon Jungle will have to wait nearly all year before Payne gets another break!
But Liam is still teaming up with his bandmate Louis for the Midnight Memories follow-up as well.
"It's a real step forward. We're really enjoying the writing process and we've recorded some of the best material ever for the next album," Liam said.
Meanwhile, One Direction is also helping out another group, 5 Seconds of Summer.
"We loved playing with them," band member Luke Hemmings said. "It was a massive opportunity for us to get our music out to a bigger audience. There's nothing to be ashamed of about playing with One Direction. But I can't say who is the biggest party animal!"
