LeBron James Returns to Cleveland This Saturday Ahead of Proposed Summer Return

LeBron James is returning to Cleveland this Saturday, but sadly for the Cleveland Cavaliers, he will be a fan, not a player. The NBA's best player played alongside Cavaliers' legend Zydrunas Ilgauskas for several years, and this Saturday the Cavaliers are retiring his No. 11 jersey, and LeBron has a rare off day and wants to attend for his former teammate and friend. Could LeBron's day trip be a prelude for a permanent move this summer?

After eight seasons together it's clear LeBron doesn't want to miss this night. The pair played together in Cleveland for seven years, one in Miami, but Zydrunas retired in 2011. It's not goodbye to Zydrunas, who works in the Cavaliers' front office as a special assistant, and although he deserves a good send off, some are worried LeBron's attendance may be an unwelcome distraction. Whatever happens this Saturday it should be an emotional night full of some of the Cavaliers former favourites and current stars, too.

Over the past few seasons LeBron has been linked with a return to the Cavaliers in the summer of 2014, and everything's primed for it to become a reality. The Cavaliers can afford him, and both the player and franchise have neither confirmed nor denied interest in being reunited. With LeBron possibly stepping foot in Cleveland this Saturday, it's yet again raised the question, could the pair and their beloved Cavaliers team unite as one this summer? It's looking more of a reality than ever before.

Perhaps seeing friend Kyrie Irving and long time friend Zydrunas Ilgauskas tis weekend might just convince LeBron that he should head home to Cleveland for good.
