At the moment, it appears as though Daniel Bryan will face Triple H and John Cena will take on Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 30 on April 6 at the Superdome in New Orleans. It's still unclear if Bryan will somehow make his way into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Randy Orton and Batista.
Wrestlezone.com reports that, regardless of Bryan's Mania status, WWE plans to push John Cena and him as the No. 1 and No. 2 men in the company, respectively, after the event. CM Punk's continued absence in WWE, and the growing opinion that he would not return anytime soon (if at all), has opened up the spot for Bryan to become the second top man in WWE.
In related news, reports surfaced yesterday that WWE scrapped several segments from Monday Night Raw at the Allstate Arena just outside of Chicago that would have mentioned CM Punk, including a Bad News Barrett promo. PWInsider.com subsequently reported that Vince McMahon decided not to bury Punk in his hometown because he still hopes that he will return to the company.
Punk still generates plenty of money from merchandise, and WWE invested time and money into the Best in the World, so McMahon did not want to sever ties with Punk. Furthermore, the report states that Triple H may not feel the same way. PWInsider claims that Punk's leverage to return on him own terms could decrease as Triple H gains more power and influence behind the scenes.
