After months of waiting, Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, currently known as Batman vs. Superman, has begun filming in Michigan. Residents in the Metamora township stated on a news report, which you can view below, that filming had begun over the weekend in the Caley Road area.

The report does not state if any of the main cast members, such as Henry Cavill or Ben Affleck, were on location for the first bits of filming. The residents said in the report that construction had been ongoing since February, with security crews as a constant presence throughout the area. The residents received letters to inform them of the construction.

In related news, TheWrap caught up with costume designed Michael Wilkinson during the pre-Academy Award festivities, and he first said he "designed the new Batsuit" when asked if he helped create the costume for Ben Affleck's character.

"I'm designing the new Wonder Woman costume," he added. "I'm tweaking the Superman suit, so yeah; I'm glad [to be hearing] good buzz about it."

Wilkinson offered the following when asked to explain his thought process in designing the Amazonian's suit:

"It's a thrilling and slightly scary prospect of course. It's so important to get her right. She really deserves to be presented on-screen in her full glory, so what I do is look at the history of the character has been presented on the big-screen, small-screen, comic books, and graphic novels; we process it all. Then we kind of put that aside and work out what it right for our film, for the cinematic universe that our director Zack Snyder is putting together. We try to create a Wonder Woman relevant for today's audiences."

Finally, Wilkinson said "Absolutely!" when asked if it would be realistic for Wonder Woman to fight crime in her typical skimpy outfit.

"I mean, you just have to look at the Gladiators from ancient Rome, they did their thing...with the shield and everything," he said. "Yes, it works for Thor and 300, so let's see what happens."
