Tim Sherwood came from out of nowhere to replace faltering boss Andre Villas-Boas, and he's had his fair share of ups and downs during his reign as Tottenham manager. Chelsea welcomed rivals Tottenham this past Saturday in what was tipped to be a classic encounter. It was, but for all of the wrong reasons for Tottenham. The Hotspurs' treble of mistakes led opponents Chelsea to a 4-0 victory.

Goals from Samuel Eto'o, Eden Hazard and a double from Demba Ba helped Chelsea hammer their hated rivals Tottenham, leaving Tim Sherwood angry at his players. In his post-match interview he insulted his players saying there were some he "couldn't count on." Insulting their character, he said, "There is a lack of character and, too many who are too nice to each other." It seems Sherwood was angry, and realized this loss may be detrimental to his future as a manager.

Chelsea now have a clear lead at the top of the Premier League, but rival contenders Manchester City have games in hand. The league leaders appear to of hit form at the right time and masterful tactician Jose Mourinho and his team will be hard to stop, as proven time and time again during the latter stages of previous seasons.

Although Sherwood has steadied the ship there have been constant rumours of his impending departure, with a bigger named manager possibly replacing him. With erratic performances like this 4-0 defeat and Sherwood publicly insulting his stars, it doesn't appear he will be in charge for much longer than the remainder of the season.
