30-year-old singer Cheryl Cole and music mogul Simon Cowell had a public fallout a few years back when the latter fired Cole from X-Factor. But there doesn't appear to be any bad blood between the two in this new joint-interview announcing Cole's return to the competitive singing reality show. Though Cole does mention tears were involved in her re-hiring, but it was Cowell who was crying when begging to have her back.
"There's only so much begging one can take. It's not nice to see a grown man cry, so I finally succumbed," Cole joked in the new interview with the U.K.'s Daybreak.
Cowell laughed with Cole, saying: "You know what, I've been doing this for a long time. You have fallouts. I held my hands up and said I made a mistake and I was sorry, and I was sorry. And then when I decided I wanted to come back, I also decided I had to have Cheryl back on the show with me."
"When you mention 2010, I have great memories of that show," Simon said of the last time he and Cole were on the series together. "I think in a weird way, the way things have worked out, it feels like we're starting again, coming back."
Simon also said Cole would play a huge part in filling out the rest of the Judges seats for the upcoming X-Factor season.
"We've spoken to people but we did agree when Cheryl agreed to come back on the show that we would agree together," he said. "Because I'm not going to put someone next to her that she hates."
