Rumors still suggest that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are bound to "get back together," but both stars are way too busy with their own separate careers right now to worry about such relationship drama. But do fans think Robstein should reunite, or was their relationship too "toxic?" According to "Divergent" starlet Shailene Woodley, the couple's onscreen romance in the hugely-popular "Twilight" series was always very "unhealthy." Could the same be said for their real-life love story?
In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, the 22-year-old actress reveals:
"Twilight, I'm sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship. She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she's going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve."
Interesting, considering some fans compare Woodley's new character in the upcoming film "Divergent" (female fantasy heroine Beatrice "Tris" Prior) to K-Stew's portrayal of Bella in the hit vampire series. Are Twihards offended by Woodley's comments about Bella's "toxic" relationship with Edward?
Several Twitter fans point out that the films were based off of FANTASY novels, so Woodley shouldn't take things so literally.
Considering "Twilight" paved the way for other novel-based film series (including "Divergent"), maybe Woodley shouldn't be so critical? What do Mstars fans think?
Back in 2009, K-Stew had this to say about Bella's suicidal thoughts after Edward's abandonment in the second book, "New Moon" -
"Go for it. I think that's the point. I know that this is a movie about immortality and mortality but, like, you live once... "Bella has a lot of really innate female qualities. For a character in literature, I think it's awesome that so many girls can look up to her, because she's fickle and unabashedly (so)" (via Reuters).
Does the infamous "Twilight" romance send a bad message to young fans - and did Robstein continue that "toxic" relationship after filming? Or should they get back together for good?
