After making his mark in the comic book medium with The Armory Wars and Key of Z, singer/songwriter Claudio Sanchez, of Coheed and Cambria rock fame, returns with an all-new miniseries, Transclucid. With co-writer Chondra Echert and artist Daniel Bayliss, Sanchez takes a dark and brooding look at what makes a hero tick and a villain snap under pressure.

From The Official Boom Studios Press Release:

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: Claudio Sanchez is the songwriter, lead singer and guitarist for the progressive rock band, Coheed and Cambria. Coheed and Cambria is a touring band, consistently releasing albums and building their audience on the road since 1995. Sanchez is also a lifelong comic book fan who has been writing comics since 2000. He has always been very active and vocal about the medium including through his Twitter feed (44,000 followers). Translucid marks the first time Sanchez has tackled the superhero genre, by deconstructing the relationship between the urban vigilante archetype and his chaotic arch villain. This combination should makeTranslucid a great add-on sale at your counter.

WHO'S GOING TO BUY IT: Fans of urban vigilante characters like Batman and Moon Knight are prime target customers for Translucid. Readers of BOOM! series like IrredeemableDeathmatch, and Suicide Risk will also gravitate over to the series. Lastly, fans of deconstructions and psychological examinations of what makes a hero and a villain like Image's Sex, DC's The Killing Joke, and Image's Sex Criminals are great targets for this series.

WHAT IT IS: The Horse has been the arch-enemy of The Navigator for years. When The Horse is released from a prison stint, he's immediately concerned that The Navigator may have gone dormant without him and worse yet, that his moral compass may be slipping. In our first issue, The Horse stages a threat where the three villains who replaced him in New York capture him and hold him hostage in the Empire State Building. When The Navigator arrives to save the building and The Horse, The Horse reveals he orchestrated the whole event as a test and captures The Navigator. His plan? To use hallucinogenic drugs to delve into The Navigator's past and discover what drives a hero.

New York is caught in the never-ending battle between The Horse and The Navigator. Check out Claudio Sanchez's Translucid #1 when it hits stores on April 16th.
