Kevin Bacon let loose for Jimmy Fallon to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic film Footloose. The recent episode had fans of the movie relive the legendary dance numbers that solidified Bacon's fame within cinematic history.
Fallon opened for Bacon's entrance skit by stating that NBC outlawed dancing on The Tonight Show. Proving that he still has his moves and dancing shoes ready at all times, Bacon, 53, performed an outrageous dance number from the green room to the stage, complete with dramatic, foggy lighting (though a body double may have been used).
"You are the coolest," said Fallon in his interview with Bacon. "You are the man, thank you for doing that. That was the best entrance in the history of our show."
When asked about how he pulled off the role by Fallon, Bacon, who was 24 years-old when he was cast to play the 17-year-old character, enrolled at a local high school as a foreign exchange student to see if he could pass as a student.
Only the principle knew about the rouse and he said it was a really amazing experience because, "Coming from Philly, I was like, 'Ah, I'll just stroll into this school because I don't care,' you know. And I was terrified to be there... It was big, corn-fed farm boys, you know, kind of giving me crap in the bathroom, just like in the movie."
To which Fallon responded, "And you would just dance your way out of the fights?" Fallon then proceeded to briefly show off his own dance moves at the comfort of his own desk.
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c.
