Will Ted and The Mother's meeting begin the 'How I Met Your Mother' series finale?

The series finale of How I Met Your Mother is just days away, and fans of the beloved sitcom are emotionally preparing themselves for what is sure to be an emotional sendoff. We've watched the main five players grow over nine seasons, but we've also had a host of guest stars to enjoy, as well. But will any of them appear for the finale?

The "Mega Buzz" column at TV Guide answers that question this week and also provides some spoilers from series director Pam Fryman:

"Save one brief cameo, the series finale will focus exclusively on the main five characters. However, the final scene of the show does not feature the Fab Five, according to series director Pam Fryman, who also teases that the hour's most emotional scene - which was the last scene filmed - comes early in the finale. 'It packs a wallop, that is for sure,' she says. 'Not just because it was our last scene ever, but the weight of what's happening in it is so great.'"

Through some stellar detective work, we discovered that series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas said at HIMYM's PaleyFest panel that the final scene filmed is Ted and The Mother meeting at the train station. The panel also revealed that some of this material was part of Milioti's audition to play the character a year ago.

So if we've done our math properly, then it looks like the fateful meeting will happen at the beginning of the episode rather than the end, and we're more than okay with that!
