Country star Trace Adkins' wife Rhonda files for divorce

MStars has learned that the wife of country singer, Trace Adkins has filed for divorce. Rhonda Adkins filed for divorce after being married for 17 years in Tennessee, citing "irreconcilable differences."

TMZ reveals that the documents say the couple had been married since 1997 and separated on Monday. The singer and his wife have three daughters together. Their ages are 16, 12, and 9.

Rhonda is asking for primary residential custody plus child support. She is also asking for alimony from the troubled star.

Rhonda has also requested to be named the sole beneficiary of the singer's life insurance policy.

The cause for the divorce is unknown, MStars recently reported that Trace checked himself into rehab earlier the year after getting into a drunken dispute with the Trace Adkins impersonator while on a cruise ship.

Trace has faced alcohol issues for years. We hope that the two can work things out.
