Filmmaker Kevin Smith, known for the Jay and Silent Bob comedies, has just heard great news from the AMC cable network. Not only is he going to develop two new projects with AMC, his TV series, Comic Book Men, has just been renewed for another season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC has committed to the fourth season of Comic Book Men. The reality TV show takes place at Smith's own comic book shop, known as "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash." Each episode follows the Secret Stash staff as they geek out over comic book history, pop culture trivia, and the latest price-worthy memorabilia. Notable guests, such as Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk) and Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek), have also shown up on the show.
Because the show is paired with The Walking Dead and follows after The Talking Dead, Comic Book Men has held its own success in the ratings on Sunday nights. The past three seasons average approximately 1 million viewers among the adults 18-49 demographic. It seemst viewers are still turning out during the late midnight hour to watch the show.
Fanboys rejoice because Comic Book Men is coming back for another season. Be sure to watch Comic Book Men after the season finale of The Walking Dead this upcoming Sunday.
