The body count keeps rising in season two of The Following. Joe is truly on a completely different level this time around, so what can we expect from Ryan and his team? From the looks of last week's episode, "Teacher's Pet," we're all in for a hell of a ride. (SPOILERS to follow)

Joe has almost complete control over the members of the cult he took over after killing Micah and Julia last week. There are a few Corbin members struggling with the new concept of murdering as part of a blood sacrifice for the higher power, but Joe knows just how to take care of them. But one of these members is the angelic-yet-creepy Mandy. He can't kill her, right?

Emma is where she belongs - by Joe's side, but Mandy clearly won't accept this so easily. A short confrontation reveals the similarities between the two young women in Carroll's life, but we all know what Emma is capable of. But could Mandy surprise us?

This week, Joe sent a group of four killers on the loose to spread his message. Two succeed, but one gets cold feet and is taken care of by the other. Joe probably should've tested this group before this mission. This is where Mike and Ryan catch up to Joe in a way after tracing a phone call didn't work earlier.

Ryan baited Joe into calling Jana's phone by leaking information to the media that Dr. Strauss has been caught. The call couldn't be traced, but Joe was incredibly mad at this. Nothing really came out of this, but seeing this interaction between the two main characters was intense.

So Ryan is inching closer to Joe, Claire is alive and on her way to New York (supposedly), and Joe has a new cult that is maybe more dangerous than his previous.

What should we expect from tonight's episode, "Freedom"? Check out some new preview clips and see if you can figure it out:
