In 2005, actor Michael Pitt (Boardwalk Empire) did a spot-on portrayal of the late singer/songwriter Kurt Cobain in the indie film, Last Days. Now, Bluewater Productions offers readers a different take on the rock's star rise and fall to stardom with Tribute: Kurt Cobain.
When the Nirvana song, "Smells Like Teen Spirit," hit the radio waves in 1991, listeners were treated to a revolutionary song that defined alternative/grunge rock. Influenced by The Pixies, Cobain was trying to emulate the guitar riff and poppy style from his favorite band, With bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Ghrol, Cobain propelled their song and album, Nevermind, to mainstream success and beyond. "Smells Like teen Spirit" continues to be praised by music fans and hailed as one of the greatest songs of all time.
