In 1978, creators Wendy and Richard Pini self-published one of the most revered fantasy/adventure epics in comic's history. Dark Horse Comics celebrates 35 years of ElfQuest with these upcoming editions that capture the comic book's pages in its original glory.
Plot Synopsis:
Chief Cutter and the Wolfriders are driven from their forest home by threat of annihilation. As they wander an ever-changing landscape in search of a new home, they are confronted by fearful and vengeful humans, power-hungry trolls, and other mysterious elfin tribes. Alliances are forged, enemies discovered, and savage battles fought in this epic fantasy adventure!
First up, readers will soon be able to get their hands on ElfQuest: The Original Quest Gallery Edition. This once-in-a-lifetime edition collects the first five-issue miniseries from the '70s that still resonates with readers. Each stroke and detail has been carefully scanned from artist Wendy Pini's gorgeous illustrations.
Fans of the series should also be interested in The Complete ElfQuest Vol.1: The Original Quest. This latest edition boasts up to 720 pages, collects the first story arc in its classic black and white form. An extensive gallery of concept art, pinups, and covers will be included. The creative team will also provide commentary on the extensive artwork.
ElfQuest: The Original Quest Gallery Edition hits stores on October 8th, and The Complete ElfQuest Vol.1: The Original Quest arrives August 6th. Art lovers will enjoy both of these editions, which are also perfect introductions to newcomers.
