The web series, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, took the videogame franchise to great new heights amongst fans and critics. After taking a long hiatus, writer/director Kevin Tancharoen believes a third season is still possible.
In an interview with Inquisitir, Tancharoen states, "We are starting to talk about it [Legacy Season 3] literally this week. I'm starting to talk to Warner Bros. and the videogame creators, so hopefully we can see it through."
Tancharoen also mentions how the third season would be different but still part of the Mortal Kombat universe, "With Legacy Season 1, it was a big experiment, No one had done it before, and we didn't know if it should be an anthology or connected. We did the first one as an anthology and the second one more serialized. In the future, it will definitely be more connected and more cohesive. We all feel right now that we have such a trajectory to the series. There are so many more stories to tell in that format."
Currently, Tancharoen has just released his short film, The Gable 5, starring Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse).
