It seems evident the Cleveland Browns are going to draft a quarterback in next months NFL draft, but who is an entirely different matter. With the decision looming, the team are looking at all of their options and yesterday they worked out Derek Carr, who many see as the No.4 quarterback in many experts' mock-drafts. With two first-round picks in Cleveland's arsenal, Carr could prove a viable option with their second of the two picks.
Reports suggest that the Browns prefer Carr over some of the others and feel they can improve the quarterback position with him, and use the No.4 pick to grab Sammy Watkins. Carr didn't shy away from revealing how his time with the Browns went as he explained "It went so good." He continued saying "Everything went great. It went exactly how we wanted it to and now, of course, we just wait till May and see how they're feeling." Usually the view from the star gives everyone an idea of what the team are thinking. It's unlikely Carr would appear so confident if the Browns were appalled with his efforts.
Carr gave the world an insight in to his drills he had to endure, saying "Coach Shanahan runs the workout. So we do their drills, and they really want to tire you out. When you're doing the individual drills, they really try to tire you out, see how you're feeling, really grind you a little bit. And then you go into throwing routes. You throw routes while you're tired, like a football game. So after all that, you do some bootlegs and they want to see how you move on the run when you're tired. Then we do some reads that they have. Then [you] say, 'If you want to see anything else, we'll show you whatever you want to see to make you feel comfortable.' That's one thing: I want every team to feel they got to see everything they wanted when they leave Fresno. So it was a great experience."
Many are wondering if Derek can succeed where his brother David failed, at rebuilding a struggling franchise. It seems like Carr is more than happy with Cleveland, but one can wonder what their views are of the young quarterback.
