There are so many talented players in the 2014 NFL Draft that it's relatively to forget some of the talented players that are available. With such a talented class it means that even the playoff teams are likely to gain a talented first-round player. Although there are gems littered throughout the draft, it appears that many teams will strengthen key positions with ease this year. Two that appear to be the forgotten men are Ohio State's RB Carlos Hyde and their CB Bradley Roby, who could both make a huge impact in the NFL.
Where will the pair go, you ask? Well firstly, both are first-round quality, but with the incredible depth and team needs, they could both drop in to the second round. Both could still be a first-round pick, with the likely outcome being Roby gets picked near the end of the opening round, and Hyde early in the second round.
Carlos Hyde offers power, speed and the ability to score from nothing, which a lot of teams will want, however, he is suffering from 'running back syndrome'. Many are suggesting that firstly, the need for running backs has been greatly reduced, and secondly, there's no need to waste top draft picks. To a point, they might be correct, especially if you look at the Cleveland Browns drafting of Trent Richardson, only to trade him a little while later. Regardless, Hyde is as good as any running back available and he will fit in to most teams.
Roby is a top CB, and many believe although he has his problems, he will be one of the best corners in the game eventually. The key word being eventually. If a team like the Cleveland Browns were to draft Roby then he would have time to learn off Joe Haden and not feel the pressure of being the No. 1 corner, whereas other teams would expect an immediate impact.
These two talented Buckeyes could play for most NFL teams, and although many are forgetting their quality, they will be reminded soon enough. Expect many teams to be interested in the pair, with both the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns looking at the duo. Although they have Frank Gore and Ben Tate respectively, both are hard-hitting running backs with injury hit pasts, so Hyde would offer some added protection.
