The Boy Meets World sequel entitled Girl Meets World will have plenty of familiar faces from the beloved 90s TV series, but it will also introduce some new blood, as well. One such character is Cory's (Ben Savage) new co-worker.
The following comes from the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online:
"Besides the return of more familiar faces, we'll meet more of Cory's coworkers at the school, including guidance counselor Carrie Russo. She's cool and confident and the kids love her."
There's no information on an actress or any other character details, but it's one more piece of the GMW puzzle.
In other news, a photo of the modern-day Matthews family has been released for all to see before the show premieres on the Disney Channel this summer.
You can check out the photo at the top of the page. The show stars Ben Savage as Cory, Danielle Fishel as Topanga, Rowan Blanchard as Riley and Sabrina Carpenter as her best friend Maya. The show also stars Peyton Meyer as Lucas, August Maturo as Auggie and Corey Fogelmanis as Farkle.
In other news, one of the stars of the beloved 90s TV series is returning for Girl Meets World, as E! Online first reported exclusively that Lee Norris would return to the show as Minkus, the fan-favorite nerd from Cory's sixth-grade class in the first season of the show. The site even posted a first-look photo at Minkus' return, which you can view at the top of the page.
"I've had a great time being back on set with some of my old friends," Norris told E! Online. "It still amazes me how many people love and remember Minkus, and I'm excited for the fans to catch up with him after all these years."
Norris made a brief return in Season 5 of Boy Meets World at the gang's high school graduation. When Cory, Shawn and Topanga asked where he had been, he replied that he had spent the last four years in the "other" part of the school.
To put a cherry on top of this news, William Daniels will return as Mr. Feeny for the first episode of the series. If that doesn't make Boy Meets World fans want to tune into the new series, then nothing will.
