It's been two days since WrestleMania 30, and fans are still reeling from the shock of Brock Lesnar defeating The Undertaker to end the Deadman's 21-0 streak at the Showcase of the Immortals. The look on the fans' faces in the Superdome and the stunned silence in the arena told the whole story.
It's also come to light that Undertaker suffered a significant injury during the match and had to go to the hospital almost immediately after he walked through the curtain to the backstage area. And according to a new report, this is why the match itself came across as so lackluster in the eyes of many fans.
The Wrestling Observer reports that Undertaker more or less had no idea what they were doing in the ring because he suffered a concussion at some point during the bout. As a result, he had to rely on Brock Lesnar to carry the match and get them to the finish. The exact moment of Taker's injury remains unclear, but the consensus is it happened during a single leg takedown in an early portion of the match.
Some online fans and sites have speculated that Lesnar changed the finish of the match and that Taker was not supposed to lose, but the majority of sites (including this one) believe that to be nonsense.
What are your thoughts on the match, the ending of the streak and Taker's injury? Do you think we will see him compete again? We'll keep you updated on any news but for now, please leave your thoughts in the comments below.
