This week, professional wrestling lost a legend in James Hellwig A.K.A. The Ultimate Warrior. The seemingly psychotic muscled-up freak of nature was an icon in the WWE universe and was just inducted into the Hall of Fame. Sadly, just this week, he died at the age of 54 years old. We have compiled some of his most memorable and important moments from his career to properly send him off.
Clearly an important moment of any career would be the first day on the job. In the following clip, we see The Ultimate Warrior’s debut in the WWE (formerly the WWF). Taking on Terry Gibbs, our first official look at The Warrior’s wrestling style and persona was incredible. Check out the video right here:
At SummerSlam 1988, The Ultimate Warrior met The Honky Tonk man at the world’s largest stage, Madison Square Garden. Seem’s like an important match, right? Well The Warrior destroyed the Elvis-inspired wrestler in just 31 seconds for the title.
There is honestly nothing more intense than this clip. Though it was only for the IC Championship, this Royal Rumble came to an historic one-on-one between two of the biggest men in wrestling. Literally.
As you can tell from the previous clip, Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior were two men that both respected while wanting so badly to beat one another. In this awe-inspiring clip, The Warrior defeats arguably the most recognizable name in the history of wrestling.
This final moment might be a little obvious, but it’s definitely an important career achievement. Watch The Ultimate Warrior’s induction speech right here:
