With Captain America: The Winter Solider putting its stamp on the box office, it wasn't going to take too long before Hollywood tapped into the comic book world for another project. This time, FTP: Federal Bureau of Physics is getting its chance to jump from the comic book page to the movie screen.

Deadline has reported that screenwriter Justin Marks (Jungle Book) is working with producer David S. Goyer (Man of Steel) on the adaptation of the Vertigo Comics title, Federal Bureau of Physics. Originally titled Collider,  the sci-fi series revolves around a group of investigators protecting the world from the deadly menace of physics. When strange things start showing up, like wormholes and gravity failures, that's when the Federal Bureau of Physics reports for duty.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, writer Simon Oliver explains the concept behind his comic, "I think the one decision that we made at the beginning of the book, which will hopefully set us apart a little bit, was that this phenomena was not a secret. It's not an undercover thing like Men in Black. If someone sees a gravity failure, you don't have to wipe their memory afterwards. I really wanted to make it part and parcel of our world so it became a logical extension that there would be an agency created to deal with these physics problems. Not too long after it, we got the FBP -- the Federal Bureau of Physics."

Plot Synopsis:

Wormholes in your kitchen. Gravity failures at school. Quantum tornadoes tearing through the Midwest. As with all natural disasters, people do what they always do. They adapt and survive. And if things get really bad, the Federal Bureau of Physics is only a call anyway.

FBP: Federal Bureau of Physics is the story of Adam Hardy, you, brash, and smart. He's a rising star at the FBP, but when a gravity failure leads to the creation of an alternate dimension known as a "Bubbleverse," Adam is sent on a rescue mission and finds his skills and abilities pushed to their limits when he discovers his partner has a different agenda.
