Paul Bettany has voiced Tony Stark's artificial intelligence, JARVIS, in three Iron Man movies and the first Avengers film. But now, the actor will take on a physical role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he plays Vision in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Bettany appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and discussed, albeit briefly, Vision's abilities in the sequel. And of course, he threw in a joke about working for Marvel.
"Oh, [he] can do all sorts of things," Bettany said. "But I'm not allowed to really talk about them and what we're going to do because there might be a Marvel agent in the room who will actually wrestle me to the ground and fire me."
The actor also noted that Marvel picks and chooses the powers and abilities of certain characters from the comics. He then went on to talk about transitioning from a voiceover role to a physical one:
"It's very exciting for me, but everything's a double-edged sword because I was playing JARVIS for years. My job was I would turn up at a recording studio for 45 minutes, do all my stuff, they would give me a huge bag of cash, and then I would go home. Now, it turns out they've found me out and they want me to actually, ya know, do something. It's not right," he joked.
