Harry Styles fan-fiction 'After' to become a movie? What about gay One Direction fantasy series 'Larry Stylinson?'

One Direction fan-fiction is a widely popular medium for amateur writers that happen to be huge fans of the boy band, but who would've thought that it could turn into a movie deal? Anna Todd, author of the fan-fiction story series After (based on Harry Styles falling in love with a 1D fan), is reportedly shopping her original piece to movie studios!

"Fan-fictions are turned into books/movies all the time so I hope those of you who dislike After or me, will just take a step back and look at this as an opportunity for yourself and with all the amazing things happening with [publishing website] Wattpad you could be the one having a movie next!" Todd said in a statement this week. "So try to remember that Wattpad is an amazing and positive community, that being said I won't engage in any fights so please leave your hateful comments on your own page."

UTA has signed to represent screen rights for After, a serialized story by Anna Todd that has become the most followed literary property published by Wattpad, an online community in which writers tell stories chapter by chapter. According to Wattpad general manager Candice Faktor, the three-part series After has been clicked on by more than 500 million.

Wattpad is described as "a writer and reader community to collaborate and share nonfiction, fiction and fan fiction. It is a mobile experience that is very social and where writers establish a personal connection with their audience."
