Sunderland seemingly had it all to do if they were to stay in the Premier League this season, but they just might find a route out of their relegation flirtation. Saturday evening they visited Chelsea. Anything is possible, but Jose Mourinho had never lost a home league game as Chelsea manager. So even Sunderland themselves were stunned to finish 2-1 winners at Stamford Bridge.

An early Chelsea goal allowed everybody to think that the 3 points were coming their way and that their Premier League title hopes were well and truly alive, however, Connor Wickham had other ideas. His close-range finish ensured the game would have a nervy end, albeit a nervy end many thought Mourinho's men would survive.

Fabio Borini ensured both his current team Sunderland, his parent club Liverpool and his former team Chelsea would all be talking about him at the end of the game. A slip allowed Sunderland to break through on goal, which resulted in a foul and a late chance from the penalty spot. Up stepped Borini, who ensured Sunderland would win 2-1. The win has given them a real chance of survival, but it's also helped his parent club Liverpool put one hand on the title, whilst putting Chelsea's chances out of reach.

Will Liverpool get the job done, and will Borini return to Liverpool as a hero this summer? The young striker is certainly making a name for himself, and if Sunderland nor Liverpool want to keep the Italian, then you can bet many other Premier League clubs would be chasing his signature.
