Manchester United are close to finishing one of their worst ever seasons, but the misery isn't done for David Moyes and his men, he now has to sort out which players are staying and which will go. Strangely for a struggling team, United have an array of attacking options including Shinji Kagawa, Juan Mata, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck. The young British forward, Welbeck, has earned himself a huge reputation for his hard-working ethic, and his ability to always improve, as well as score, however, he can't get consistent minutes with the other options often preferred to the England international.
For a while it seemed like he was happy, but today reports emerged suggesting he's ready to walk away this summer, knowing he could start for most other clubs on a regular basis. The 23-year-old striker prefers to be in a central position, yet he's constantly used in other positions to accommodate the other, earlier mentioned options. The youngster has a two-year contract remaining, but he's considering asking to leave, or at least seeing his contract out without signing an extension.
If David Moyes is kept in charge it seems he wants to keep Danny, and he explained, saying "Danny Welbeck is really important to me and I really value him." He continued, saying "As you know, there have been a lot of stories." So one can wonder if there's any truth to these reports, or if it's a plot to get a contract extension and more playing time.
Welbeck has scored 10 goals in 32 appearances for United this season, so there would be no shortage of interested teams. Would you keep Danny Welbeck at United, or would you let him leave to further his career?
