Ever complained that your kids aren't getting enough vegetables? Well Haagen-Dazs might have just solved your problem.
The ice cream maker has just announced that they will be debuting two new flavors in Japan next month. The "Spoon Vege" flavors include Tomato Cherry and Carrot Orange. The company took to their Facebook to see if fans could guess the new flavors by hinting at them through half-finished puzzle piece pictures.
So are these flavors really a healthy alternative to regular ice cream?
They definitely appear to be; In a press release that was used by website Rocketnews24, the new flavors will contain about 8.5% of milk fat which is a little more than half of what is currently in a normal Haagen-Dazs pint of ice cream.
The ice cream will be available for purchase in Japan when they hit shelves on May 12. No news from the company if they will release the flavors in the United States.
We imagine with the health food trends that have been sweeping the nation such as juicing, that many consumers would definitely be eager to try some veggies in their ice cream.
We are hoping that the Japanese consumers find the ice creams delicious because we are dying to try them.
What do you think about the new ice cream flavors? What other vegetables would you like to see turned into ice cream flavors? Brussels sprouts? Cabbage? Avocado? Let us know in the comments bellow.
