Supernatural has plenty to juggle in the final few episodes of Season 9 as the finale approaches. Abaddon and Crowley are still out there, and Crowley has the First Blade, the only weapon that can kill the Knight of Hell. Dean recently acquired the Mark of Cain to wield the Blade, but it's causing him to go into berserker mode. Oh, and Metatron is still out there with Gadreel wreaking havoc in Heaven and on Earth.

And next week's episode will also serve as the backdoor pilot for the spinoff, Supernatural: Bloodlines. So with all these elements at play, how will the show tie everything together for the final episode? According to showrunner Jeremy Carver, it's not going to be pretty.

E! Online posted the following blurb as part of its series on upcoming television finales, and Carver offered a small peak at the final hour of Season 9:

"'All bets are off when Sam, Dean and Castiel take the fight to Metatron,' boss Jeremy Carver warns. 'Uneasy alliances and brutal choices await...all culminating in shocking consequences.' Gulp."

We're going to go out on a limb and say that one of those uneasy alliances is Crowley, with whom the Winchesters have begrudgingly been working for much of the season. Brutal choices and shocking consequences have become par for the course for Supernatural finales, and consider that last season ended with the closing of Heaven and the fall of thousands of angels. How they top that is beyond us.
