Naya Rivera Fired from 'Glee' Amid Lea Michele Feud - Producer Say Actress is Jealous of Co-star

Naya Rivera has been fired from Glee effective immediately; Daily News says that a source close to the production confirmed the news to them earlier today. According to PopWrapped, production has even "written out" Rivera's character from the season five finale with no plan of bringing her back for any of the sixth and final season of the Fox show.

The firing comes after rumors that Rivera and costar Lea Michele have been feuding on set for the last few months. Us Weekly reported that the drama reached an all-time high two weeks ago, when the two had a "major altercation" with one another.

Daily News sheds light on the altercation, saying that it was directed towards the production team and that Michele name got brought up in the heat of the moment. They claim that "[Naya] went off but it had nothing to do with Lea," also citing that Rivera is "jealous" of her costar.

The production team told the Daily News that Michele had nothing to do with the firing claiming, "One costar would not have any power in whether another returns to the show."

Both of the stars have had personal tragedies take place within the last year- Michele's boyfriend, fellow Glee star Cory Monteith died of a drug overdose, and Rivera and her ex-fiancé Big Sean called off their engagement earlier this year.

Viewers will have to tune in and see if Santana has actually been written off the show when the season finale airs on May 12.
