Get ready for some Shirley Maclaine.
The veteran actress will make her Glee debut on tonight's episode where she becomes a mentor of sorts for Blaine's character. Maclaine will play June Dolloway, a wealthy socialite who she describes as "wonderfully dramatic, funny," and "a tastemaker."
E! News caught up with the Academy Award winning actress to ask her a few questions including why she agreed to do the role.
"I felt like getting up and kicking my heels," she explained. "Putting movement to notes of music and just the whole feeling of all that mixture again because it was my whole life up until about 10 years ago. And I haven't done anything in 10 years and I thought it'd be interesting to go back and do it with no time at all to rehearse."
Maclaine watched Glee for the past five years before becoming a part of it.
"It's a long time five years, in and out, back and forth, yeah. Very admiring of this talent. I cannot tell you. They are extraordinary. And their health and their well-being and their work ethic is extraordinary."
She jokes throughout the interview with E! News that she hopes she gets to keep the wardrobe. "I just want to make sure I get the wardrobe," even joking that she wrote it into her contract and saying "that's another good reason why I did [Glee].
When asked if Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, approached Maclaine to be in his other series American Horror Story, she answers with a "no, not-uh."
Ohh man!!! We were so hoping she would be in the new season. We could definitely see her as part of the freak show.
The Oscar winner actress says that she hasn't even seen the series that is filmed entirely in New Orleans.
"I haven't seen it, but I don't want to go back to the mood in New Orleans, so I'm not sure about that. He's very talented though, he really has some stuff."
Hopefully during her time on the set of Glee, Murphy can convince Maclaine to be a part of AHS. The first of Maclaine's episodes airs tonight at 8 pm on Fox.
