Fans of Beyonce and/or Rihanna probably aren't too familiar with Theresa Wayman or her all-female indie rock band Warpaint, but that could change thanks to her interview with Q Magazine. In this sit-down with the magazine, the singer criticizes the pop starlets for being "hyper-sexual" and caused quite the backlash on Twitter. Wayman has already apologized for her comments.
"Every song on Beyonce's last album has her basically looking like a slut and she does not need to do that," Wayman told the magazine when asked about Jay Z's wife. "She's gorgeous and so fucking talented. And they all take it as women's liberation!"
When asked about Rihanna, the "Love is to Die" singer said, "She has an insane voice, she could've done something so much more subtle and artful."

After already receiving plenty of backlash on social media websites and other mediums, Wayman took to the band's official Facebook page to explain her comments and ultimately apologize.
Here is an excerpt:
"A journalist came on our bus and casually asked us what we thought about women in music and we responded as fans and consumers and not as card carrying feminists. Not as anybody with power or influence either. We're not trying to start a war, no f*cking way. We would be crushed like little lady flies."

Q Magazine's original story has also been updated with an excerpt from and a link to the apology. Hopefully this situation gets cleared up!
