The cast of characters in the Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, has gained a new member as Michael McKean has joined the prequel series.

Deadline reports McKean will play Dr. Thurber, an intelligent lawyer who suffers from an unusual affliction. He joins Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks, who return as Saul Goodman and Mike Ehrmantraut, respectively.

E! Online recently reported that the new AMC show is looking for multiple parts, including Beth, a successful lawyer who has had a difficult life thanks in part to her own romantic involvements with someone else at the law firm. There's also Burt, a "Kennedy type" who is extremely successful and a name partner at another firm.

Other characters include Eddy, an intelligent criminal who knows what he's doing, and twin brothers Zack and Luke, who pass the time skateboarding and scamming others.

Aaron Paul, who famously played Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad, revealed in an interview published by the AP that he has had "serious talks" with Gilligan about revisiting the character in Better Call Saul.

"Anything Vince is involved with, I'm there," Paul said in an interview to promote his movie Need For Speed. "I owe him my entire career. And the idea of jumping into the skin of Jesse Pinkman again in his lighter days - because it's all a prequel - it would be fun."

What do you think of McKean's addition to Better Call Saul? Do you think he will blend well with the rest of the cast? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
