Disney Channel ordered the Boy Meets World sequel series, Girl Meets World, to series nearly a year ago, and now the network has finally set a release date for the first episode of the highly anticipated show.

The Hollywood Reporter reports the show will first air Friday, June 27 at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT after the Disney Channel original movie Zapped! The show will then be off for a week before it debuts in its regular time slot on Friday, July 11 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. The cast members will host the show that night.

But for those who do not want to wait that long, a free download of the preview episode will be available on iTunes on Friday, June 13 and on the WATCH Disney Channel video player starting on Wednesday, May 21. Disney Channel will also have a four-hour Boy Meets World marathon on Sunday, June 15, which happens to be Father's Day.

Finally, original and remixed version of the show's theme song, "Take on the World," sung by stars Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, will debut Tuesday, May 20.

A new, extended trailer for the show has also debuted, which you can watch below:

E! News caught up with Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who return as Cory and Topanga Matthews, respectively, on the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday. The two talked about returning to pay older versions of their famous characters, now with children, and the fun they have had thus far.

"We're having a ball. It's been a really crazy, but exciting experience," Savage said. "It's not often you can really go revisit a chapter from your childhood and just do it over again. And we're getting to do that, so it's been a lot of fun!"

Fishel echoed the sentiments of her on-screen husband. "I don't think there are very many people who get the opportunity to create a character that so many people remember and then also get to revisit it."

What do you think of the new trailer, and when and how will you be watching the premiere? Let us know in the comments below.
